Point Poker
Gamifying sprint planning

Starting product sprints in the right direction
Point Poker, Planning Poker, or Scrum Poker is a gamified technique for estimating effort of development goals in software development. Point Poker is a great tool to help teams start their development sprints with clarity and momentum.
As part of the Applied Agile suite, Yeti LLC provides teams with both a physical deck of cards and a responsive web-app. I designed the both physical and digital sets of cards and worked with developer Nicholas S. on the web-app. Works on all browsers and devices.

Getting started
To get started planning your next sprint, you either Start a New Session or Join an Existing Session. Secondly, you input your name so others within your team know who you are.
After you've started a new session, you are then given an option to invite players to the session with a four character code.

Joining an existing session
Anyone with your four character code can now join your session and start planning. They'll also be asked to input their name so you know it's them.
Time to get pointing
Once everyone in your planning session has joined in, you can start! The goal of each session is to assign complexity points to each user story or task. Each member of the team secretly votes for their estimation. While votes are hidden, you can still see which individuals have not voted.

Point discussion
When everyone has voted, each estimation is shown to the rest of the team. Each member is encouraged to explain their reasoning for their estimation, allowing for discussion and eventually consensus on the estimation. Once the team has agreed, you can clear the board to start discussing and pointing the next task or user story.
